Making difficult moments easier

We love hearing about the material impact we can have on people's lives. Toward the end of 2019 as everyone was gearing up for a much-needed break, an employer with 40 active eligible employees informed its team it was going into administration. The employees naturally had mixed feelings, with Christmas coming, and most were concerned about their immediate future. Coal LSL made the commitment to the employees who enquired that we would update them with necessary information. At the end of December, the company formally told us it was entering liquidation, which allowed for long service leave payments to commence (refer Part 7, Section 48, of the Admin Act), and it was all-hands-on-deck to help their employees access their long service leave benefit quickly. Our team delivered on its commitment and engaged with the employees, letting them know of the outcome and the process moving forward. One employee who was able to access his entitlements through an immediate payment said, ‘I am so impressed with the way and speed with which everything has been handled. Your help has been so much appreciated. Thank you so much.’ Making these hard moments easier for people is why we love what we do.
