Accruing leave

How leave accrues

Leave entitlements accrue in hours, based on your employment status:

  • Full-time employee: 455 hours after eight years’ qualifying service.

  • Part-time employee: accrues at a rate which reflects the number of hours worked each week. The maximum accrual is the equivalent of a full-time employee.

  • Casual employee: accrues at a rate which reflects the number of hours worked each week, averaged over each quarter. The maximum accrual is the equivalent of a full-time employee.

Checking your leave balance

There are several ways to check your leave balance:

  • Log into the Self-service Portal.

  • Complete the online leave balance enquiry form

  • Request a Service History Statement via the online enquiry form

  • Phone us on 1300 852 625.
